PA to support with activities in the community – Oadby, weekends.

LDM382961

Preferred days/times:
3 hours at the weekend on a Saturday or Sunday to be used flexibly as needed, to be discussed at interviews.

Tasks/duties:
The client wishes to get out and about in the community and take part in activities that he is interested in.

The client can make simple choices and state his personal preference to his likes or dislikes. He is also able to follow short simple instructions.

There is limited understanding of time; this is managed by making his routine task based. i.e. complete A first, then we will be able to do B.

The client will often respond despite his level of understanding, so he will often reply yes to questions that are asked, without thinking if this is the response that he wishes to give.

Support is required with prompting to eat and drink, if he needs to use the toilets, washing hands etc. He doesn’t require support with personal care.

There can be some anxiety when there is a lack of routine, or the routine is unclear or unstructured. Without changes being well managed with clear guidelines and with routines set out, it may lead to some behaviours that challenge. This is managed by ensuring that the client is aware of the routine and broken down into stages.

Client main diagnosis: The client has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, moderate learning disability, emotional/behavioural disorder and anxiety.

Communication: The client has good verbal communication and can speak in and understand sentences. He can engage with others, however, has a limited awareness of the dangers that strangers may pose. The client has dysfluency and may repeat words and whole phrases.
