A male individual needs some assistance with engaging and sourcing, reminding and community activities, attending appointments, grocery shopping, and handling administrative tasks. General household tasks.
Can experience speech deficits and needs patience. Uses a talker as well.
Client has specific dietary requirements.
Preferred days/times:
6 hours a week, which may occasionally include the following based on planned activities:
3 hours on Monday from 6.30 to 9.30 pm
3 hours on Wednesday from 6.30 to 9.30 pm
AND
9 hours per week to be used flexibly, times and days to be arranged with the PA
Ideally the hours will be split between two PAs so that they can also provide cover for each other.
Tasks/duties:
6 hours per week to help with various activities such as meal and recipe planning, walking the dog, participating in local events, and accessing clubs.
9 hours per week to be used flexibly for shopping, laundry, correspondence, social inclusion, health appointments, vet appointments, accessing the community going into town, day trips, accessing local transport – for example going on the train to the NEC for a day out. And promoting independence.
Experience is essential for toilet hygiene support when out and at home and transferring with a ceiling track hoist is essential.
The personal assistant (PA) will drive the client’s wheelchair-accessible vehicle (manual at present WAV) and must possess a full, clean UK driving license, as well as be over 25 years old due to insurance requirements.
Client main diagnosis:
Cerebral Palsy
Brain cyst
Autism and ADHD
Weakness in all four limbs, with poor hand control and dexterity
Visual issues-Nystagmus/short sighted and astigmatism
Manual Handling
The client needs support with all transfers, utilising the ceiling track hoist. The client uses a wheelchair for mobility.
Pets
The client has a dog - It is essential that any applicant is fond of dogs, as the dog though friendly, is large, and can be energetic. The PA may occasionally need to walk the dog, which could include taking it for a walk with the client.

The client enjoys activities such as going to the cinema, bowling, and crafts and has a great sense of humour and enjoys music.
