Self-employed PA to support client sailing, horse riding and other activities – TS354920

A Self-employed PA is required to support an individual who has physical disabilities to access the community.

Support is required for a total of 8 hours per week split across two days, 4 hours per day – 11am-3pm. Usually Mondays and Fridays, but may also be Mondays and Thursdays, or Thursdays and Fridays.

Duties: Drive client to/from sailing activity, support to dress/undress, and support client to participate in the activities. PA may need to provide occasional support with hoisting, but one other person will be present during the activities to support with this, and training can be given if necessary. Sailing activity is seasonal, so support will be required for alternative activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, trips etc. Client would also like to explore horse riding.

PA will require a full and clean driving license with their own vehicle and business insurance. Client will pay mileage direct.

Client’s interests: Sailing, arts and crafts, swimming. Would like to explore horse riding, loves animals.

Relevant client diagnosis: Pancreatic tumour and diagnosed with a neurological condition.

Communication: Following a stroke, client can sometimes experience word finding difficulties.

Mobility: A Wheelchair is used for longer distances. Hoist is used for sailing activity. There will be one other person on site to support with this.

Previous care experience desired but not essential. This opportunity is suited for someone who is responsible, reliable, patient, and respectful of others’ privacy, dignity, values, and beliefs. You may be a good fit if you are looking to get back into work after caring for a relative or friend.
