Young LGBT person needs support to lead a fun and varied lifestyle – Ref. AE288055
Preferred days/times:
To be confirmed with person and PA. Flexibility required
PA is required to have access to their own vehicle, mental health experience, a good sense of humour, ability to adapt to a variety of situations, and be accepting of LGBT people (it is not essential that the PA is LGBT)
Tasks/duties:
Support with accessing the community
Support with having a shower and bathing including help getting in and out of the bath or shower (client will provide training) and support with feminine hygiene
Support with changing bed linen, preparing meals, food shopping, and laundry
Support with reaching their goals of improving their independence and continuing with their voluntary work
Transport to and from appointments and social events – PA required to have use of their own vehicle. A small foldable electric or manual wheelchair will be transported in the boot – client will show how to do this correctly. Transfer support in and out of the car. The wheelchair is small and can fit in the boot of most cars
Assistance with admin tasks such as helping with phone calls, and wording emails correctly
Client main diagnosis:
Cerebral Palsy
Chronic lung condition
Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Mental health
Emotional Unstable Personality disorder (EUPD)
Mixed anxiety and Depressive disorder
Manual Handling
The client has limited mobility and uses a wheelchair which will be required to be lifted in and out of the boot of the car
Support with getting in and out of the shower or bath and car – training will be provided
Communication:
The client talks very quietly so will often use a communication app as and when needed
Client enjoys:
Their voluntary work, going to the cinema, visiting coffee shops, theme parks, and exploring new places.
There is a friendly family dog at the property
