To enable and support with his morning routine and access the local community.
The position can be split between two or more carers if necessary.
The young gentleman is unable to communicate verbally and mobilise independently. He also has limited standing tolerance.
All food/drink/medication is administered via a Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) feeder. He also has thickened fluids for drinks.
The gentleman had a stroke in 2007 when he was 19 years of age, with a subsequent stroke in 2010 resulting in multiple disabilities and a left side weakness.
The gentleman can make day to day decisions if he is given choices to allow him to respond Yes or No (Non-verbally) by blinking or nodding.
He enjoys going out and about in his local community (Thurmaston) drawing, playing games and using his exercise bike.
Two people required at all times for transfers, family to act as the second carer.
An enhanced DBS certificate is applicable to this role.
