PA required to support young man with building confidence, increasing skills and community access. This person is talented in areas such as coding and gaming, but requires support to help him to engage in different activities. Due to this individual’s diagnosis, he can find it difficult to engage with new people, but once has built a rapport, he has a wicked sense of humour.
Initially, support will be fewer hours to help build confidence and a rapport. Once this has been established, the hours will increase up to the full 10 hours.
Preferred days/times: AM support, with hours split over 5 days, to be discussed further at interview.
Tasks/duties: Building a trusted working relationship, developing effective personal care routines, developing regular meals routine and cooking skills, support to implement techniques to manage, anxiety and Autism, support to access the community
Client main diagnosis: Autism, ADHD, Depression
Communication: This individual is able to communicate verbally; however, his Autism diagnosis significantly impacts his communication, especially with unfamiliar people and in formal situations.
Moving and Handling: No issues
Pets: A dog and a cat
Smoker: No
Client enjoys: This individual enjoys learning and his education is very important to him, he is talented as coding and internet gaming.
He dislikes unfamiliar settings, people and change in routines
This opportunity is suited for an individual who is responsible, reliable, patient, and friendly, and who consistently respects the privacy, dignity, values, and beliefs of others. A good understanding of neurodiversity is also required to ensure appropriate, sensitive, and effective support for neurodivergent people
