PA support for Individual in Shepshed

Young woman in Shepshed requiring a PA to support around the home to help maximise independence and meet care needs. Applicants need to be reliable and feel able to provide a stable level of support to build a rapport with the individual. Applicants must like working alongside cats. This individual is awaiting a medical procedure which will result in them having to lay flat for 6 weeks, so initially more support will be required due to additional support being needed at this time.

Preferred days/times: 2.5 hours support per day in a block, initially this will be 3.5 hours a day (for 6 weeks) due to the individual recovering from a medical procedure. Support to be provided in the afternoons. Afternoon support, times to be discussed further at interview.
Tasks/duties: to support with meals and drinks, support with managing correspondence and appointments, supporting to use the home safely and to reduce levels of isolation. Longer term goal would be to have support to access the community.

Client main diagnosis: Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Spontaneous intracranial hypotension due to spinal fluid leak, CPTSD. Various diagnoses lead to high levels of pain and the individual needing to spend a significant amount of time lying flat.

Communication: No issues

Moving and Handling: This individual has to take her time when mobilising, but no moving and handling issues

Pets: 3 cats

Smoker: yes, but smokes outside the property

Client enjoys: alternative therapy/holistic medicine, current affairs, documentaries and history. Self-care such as getting eyelashes done.

Hours per week – For 1st 6 weeks - 24.5 hours per week, 3.5 hours per day. Long term - 17.5 hours per week, 2.5 hours per day.

Hourly rate – £19.50 Self Employed
