PA to support 25 year old female, with community and volunteering activities – Melton

6 hours of support on a Monday, to take part in activities and support with volunteering at a Charity Shop.

The client requires support with keeping herself safe out in the community, she struggles with time keeping, speed and co-ordination, general cognitive function and complex decision making.

The client has a moderate learning disability.

The client is able to express her general needs, wishes and feelings, but she requires support when conversations become more complex—for example, when communicating with adult social care, the DWP or when managing her finances. When information is presented in a complex way, the client finds it difficult to understand and remember. She needs others to communicate with her using simpler language and to break down large amounts of information into smaller, more manageable parts.

She also needs sufficient time to process information and make sense of what is being explained. It is important that people speak clearly and slowly, ensuring that everything is explained carefully so that she has the time she needs to understand what is being said.

There is no moving and handling support required.

The client has a friendly dog.

Transport is required, with a full, clean license, the client with provide mileage payments.

The client enjoys going to the theatre, watching musicals, reading, mindfulness colouring, dancing, baking, and listening to music—particularly older music. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

She has previously attended Brooksby Melton College, where she completed a Level 1 Catering course.
