PA to support 57 year old male, living on a boat, with personal care, accessing the community – Lutterworth.

Support required for 10 hours a week, one hour to be banked weekly, to be used every 6 weeks, so the PA can support with attending the Druids group at Beacon Hill (6hrs, approximately 8 meetings a year).
2 additional hours every 2 weeks to supervise with emptying toilet tank and refuelling boat.
20 contingency hours to be provided annually to support with unplanned appointments.
Preferred days/times:
Wednesday and Thursday 4.5 hours each day.
Tasks/duties:
To support with supervising personal hygiene for reassurance.
PA to support with domestic tasks, prompting medication and arranging repeat orders. To apply creams to maintain skin integrity, and have flexibility to batch cook, so that the client has meals available to warm up on the days where he does not receive care.
PA to also support the client to access the community, to support with shopping, attending appointments, Druids group, and attending the barbers. He also requires minimal support with his mobility, this is more supervision and guidance, he also has a 2 hourly- boat ride to empty his toilet tank and refuel diesel this is completed every 2 weeks. As he get easily fatigued, it is helpful if the PA could drive his Motability vehicle which requires a UK or EU driving licence.

Autism/Aspergers

Fibromyalgia
Single-sided deafness
Communication:
The client states that he finds it difficult to communicate with people and fit in. The client also has single-sided deafness.
Moving and Handling:
There are times of chronic pain and fatigue, due to Fibromyalgia, which can impact on his mobility, causing it to be restricted. The client mobilises with a tri-walker, or a walking stick, and has a powered wheelchair.
There are no pets on the boat.
Client enjoys:
60's/70's music.
Swimming, this supports with pain management, and it helps improve his overall wellbeing.
Enjoys being with nature, though he struggles with attending parks if there are no established footpaths.
Reading and listening to Music.
He still plays a guitar and a keyboard which is something he enjoys, although this is harder now due to his loss of hearing in one ear.
The client currently attends Druid sessions 8 times a year.
